Gunung Datuk

..
.
Gunung Datuk locates in Kg Batang Nyamor, Gadung of the Rembau district of Negeri Sembilan state. It is within the vicinity of Gunung Tampin Forest Reserve, of which part of the forest reserve is open to public for recreational purpose, known as Hutan Lipur Gunung Datuk.
.

The summit reaches 2,900 feet ( about 883 meter ) above sea level. But how high is it from the base? Not a clue ! It is however the minimum for a mountain in general appellation, is 1000 feet or 300m over base. So, is it a mountain or mere a hill ?
.

Journey up the mountain takes about 2 hours. We stop numerous times. It was really steep. Journey down takes about 110 minutes. Can’t move very fast as one might hurt his knee or leg muscles.
.

It was reported that the summit of the mountain was once used by Dato Perpatih Nan Sebatang to gather Ketua-ketua Adat to announce the title and name of future Dato Lembaga in 1372. What a weird place for such an occasion.
.
“快到了!”
一路上都有人鼓励说:“快到了!”。 不过听多了,又不见路的尽头,不免有点受骗的感觉。

exposed surface roots tangling all over …
... useful when climbs up

Boulders and fallen trees add on to the obstacles

Final climb to the top of large boulders….

Enjoying the view… it is said that on fine day, can see the Strait of Malacca

Reaching for the sky

足下的江山。。。。 虚空

A sumptuous meal of crab in Seremban, a happy ending : )
